Lifeguard Position

Long Branch Swim & Racquet Club

-          Lifeguards must be 15 years old and have a valid Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard/First Aid certificate (recertify every 3 years) and have completed CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer program (recertify every year).

-          Pool Operators must be 16 years old and have a valid Pool Operator’s Certificate with a picture on it (recertify every 3 years). Pool Ops can work as a regular guard but will be paid at their appropriate guard rate.

-          Pay:

                 Guard:  Year 1    $7.25

                                Year 2     $7.75

                                Year  3+  $8.25

               Pool Op: Year 1   $9

                                Year 2    $9.50

                                Year 3+  $10

-          Most guards work 10-30 hours/week.

-          To apply, please fill out the application and return by April 30. The pool opens May 27th and closes September 5th.  Once school is out, the pool is open from noon – 8PM (or 9PM). Normally, there are two shifts/day with 2 guards and 1 pool op/shift.

-          All communications will be done by email so there will be a requirement to check email daily.
